Tomorrow will be a big day for fans of downloadable content for epic games that can easily exceed 100 hours, even in their original form. Not only will Mass effect 3‘s ending gets the “Extended Cut” that many fans have been asking for, but Xbox 360 Skyrim players will be able to download the game’s first full downloadable content pack, Dawnguard, starting Tuesday, June 26.
Bethesda promises “10 to 20 hours of new content” in the expansion, which revolves around the decision to become a flying, transforming, gargoyle-summoning Vampire Lord, or a member of the Dawnguard sworn to hunt those vampires . Vampire Lords and Werewolves will have access to all-new perk trees in the expansion, while Dawnguard members will be able to wield crossbows and craft new, more powerful Dragonbone items. Dawnguard players can also explore a new dimension of trapped souls, the “Soul Cairn”.
The 1600 Microsoft Points ($20) download will be available in English-speaking regions starting tomorrow, but French, Italian, German and Spanish players will have to wait until mid-July. PS3 and PC players will also have to wait, thanks to a timed exclusivity deal that ensures Microsoft’s system receives content 30 days before anyone else.
