A remake of Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is apparently in the making after the official Duty Twitter account responded to a 16-month-old tweet with two emoji: pile of poop and jeans.

In December 2014, Angus Varderslott announced that he would “literally shit [his] pants” with excitement if he ever heard of one Call of Duty 4 remaster. Call of Duty 4 was a groundbreaking title. It was the first Duty game set in the present, following a series of World War II-themed titles, and it set the standard for “cinematic” first-person shooters. Although the series is nowadays derided as rather formulaic and linear, the former Modern warfare title contained real surprises, with an extremely exciting sniper mission in the ruins of Pripyat (the Ukrainian city left after the Chernobyl disaster) and the death of one of the player characters in the aftermath of a nuclear attack.
The reply to the tweet suggests that Varderslott should take a trip to the laundry.
The tweet is an acknowledgment of a leak yesterday that indicated that a remastered version of Call of Duty 4 would be included in some editions of an upcoming one Duty title, Infinite warfare. A leak from Amazon, since closed, suggested all three Modern warfare games could be coming to the PS4.
